Yoga has been a part of Catarina’s life for about 8 years after moving to London to follow the dream of working in the magic of the movies as a visual effects artist. The sedentary lifestyle demanded by the nature of the business started aggravating the chronic back pain and tension caused by the long hours working on the computer. She started practising yoga for the physical side of it, to help her overcome the chronic back pain.
Catarina realized the healing benefits not only in the body but also in the mind. She loves the challenge and the movement in yoga, but more importantly the philosophy and meditative side which has really impacted her life both on and off the mat.
Believing that the key for life is balance, Catarina teaches dynamic classes based in Ashtanga with continuous movement, as well as slow-paced yoga, like Yin Yoga where the aim is to find stillness. In both, the challenge will be there, allowing modifications to push yourself a little further in a safe place.
Catarina is passionate about sharing the many benefits of living a yogic lifestyle and believes that yoga is for everyone, regardless of age or ability and it’s about being present, connecting body and mind through breath, letting go, accept what it is and enjoy the process of getting stronger.
As an avid food lover, she also passionate about cooking and sharing delicious and healthy recipes.
Catarina completed over 500 hours of training, from London to India, she travelled far to meet her teachers. She has trained in Ashtanga Vinyasa, Rocket Yoga, Mandala Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Chakras and Meridian Theory, baby yoga and recently, sound healing which she loves to incorporate in her classes.
